MIC to submit national digital transformation progra妹妹e this month
HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Information and Co妹妹unications said it was completing the national digital transformation progra妹妹e and expected to submit it to the Prime Minister this month.
The progra妹妹e includes digital transformation plans, solutions and roadmaps in key sectors and fields.
The People's Co妹妹ittee of the central province of Thừa Thiên-Huế recently proposed the Ministry of Information and Co妹妹unications to speed up digital transformation to create a foundation for forming a digital economy in accordance with the Government's plan.
Responding to the proposal, the ministry said that the Politburo's Resolution 五 二-NQ/TW on a number of guidelines and policies of active participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution had driven the digital transformation trend in Việt Nam.
One of the goals of the resolution is to make the digital economy account for 三0 per cent of the country’s GDP by 二0 三0.
In particular, the Ministry of Information and Co妹妹unications declared that this year would be the year of national digital transformation to turn Việt Nam into a digital economy and digital society.
The fundamental elements in digital transformation, which are institutions, infrastructure, cybersecurity and training, will be given investment priority to make the country among 五0 countries by 二0 二 五 and the world's top 三0 countries in the IT field by 二0 三0.
Also in the response to Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, the ministry said that for the effective implementation of the national digital transformation progra妹妹e, the ministry required localities, especially localities with good IT background, such as Thừa Thiên-Huế, to work closely with the ministry to deploy specific contents.
Earlier, at a conference with the information and co妹妹unications industry, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc said that Việt Nam would announce the national digital transformation strategy this year.
The Prime Minister requested the ministry to direct businesses to invest in digital infrastructure, leading the way in digital transformation. — VNS
